Our programs include Nursery (02 years), Toddler (24 years), Ore Prep (35 years) and School Age (412 years), therefore relevant for all children from birth to last of Primary school. Each room has a curriculum designed with activities specifically to face the developmental ages and stages of the children participating in the program. All CBC Childcare Services have competent staff with the flexibility to move from room to room. Our teacher ensures that the children will be ready to go to school next year. Our educators go over to Nanango Primary School to pick up the children to walk back to the center. When they come back at Community Kids, they have afternoon tea which is provided by the center and then the children are qualified to do various activities of their choice. At Vacation Protection we have various merriment activities programmed for the holidays. A copy of our Vacation Care program is given to the parent carer to allow them to choose which activities and or excursions they wish their kid to attend. In 1986 The Murgon YMCA established it as an activity therapy center providing social and active participation for people with disabilities. South Burnett CBC (CBC) is an incorporated not for gain organization that has been operating a wide range of community and government programs since 1983, with a proven track record in the local community of provision of services including employment services, youth services, foster protection and disability services. CBC is vitally apprehensive with encouraging community growth and development of meaningful, prized and sustainable services for this community.

We delivered lots of projects to community organizations, from landscaping aged protection centers to building toilets in public parks while teaching work and life skills. The only backward step in our regular growth up until then had to be taken in 200 when despite very good performance we lost Intensive Assistance from our suite of programs in a new affectionate process. As it turned out this was probably a blessing in disguise as it freed us up to focus on non employment related needs in the community. We continued recruitment services through Job Matching and later as a Job Placement organization. Throughout the quick expansion of training and recruitment services for lengthy term unemployed people, young people’s needs remained as a major focus. Here too the number of programs expanded, particularly when we were asked to receive on the auspice of the South Burnett Area Youth Service (bays) and with it the crisis accommodation hostel in Kingaroy Street in 2001. (A new and custom built hostel was opened in 2008 in Mark well Street). The Peanut Company of Australia made a parcel of land on Somerset Street available to Council and CBC purchased some demount qualified classrooms and established them on that site. In lots of community active bees, with Work for the Dole and Community Jobs Plan projects we transformed these buildings and the site into what is now the Youth Park. During 200203 a group of parents of children with disabilities requested CBC’s assistance in establishing a respite service. Again we old various projects to transform an ordinary house into a great facility for people with a disability of all ages and their carers. The program provides young people with information and assistance so they become empowered to make informed decisions, comprehend processes and achieve their goals. Youth workers labor with young people to resolve crises, reestablish family links where good and strengthen their capacity to live independently through case management support. HHS Youth Workers aim to urge young people to develop skills, information and opportunities to make informed choices about their future. Through case management young people will be supported to identify and accomplish brief and long term goals.
